Signature Projects - Grand Rapids Jaycees Patriot Day Parade - Volunteer Information

The 5th Annual Grand Rapids Jaycees Patriot Day Parade is organized and operated entirely by volunteers from the Grand Rapids Jaycees and the community. Without help from volunteers like you, the parade wouldn't be possible.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Staging:

Lining up parade entrants prior to the start of the parade. Volunteers will be paired up and each pair will be assigned a section.

De-Staging:

Helping parade entrants as they complete the parade route. Keeps parade traffic flowing in a smooth and orderly fashion. The de-staging area for the parade is located at the GVSU Watson Parking Lot, located at the corner of Winter and Front St. SW adjacent to the GVSU downtown campus.

Entrant Hospitality:

Entries are provided refreshments at the end of the parade route in the de-staging area. Volunteers in this area will greet entrants and help ensure that the hospitality area is kept well-stocked.

Route Marshals:

Get to watch the parade and help out all at the same time! Each parade route marshal is assigned a spot along the parade route. Helps to ensure that the parade route is free of any obstructions.
