About Us: Overview

Who We Are

The Grand Rapids Jaycees are a group of professionally minded young people ages 21 to 40. Through active participation, Jaycees meet new people, network for business, help the community and build their personal and professional skills.

How do we do that? By planning and executing projects in a variety of areas, members of the Jaycees get experience in event planning, management, networking and more.

Each project begins with the writing of a Chairman's Planning Guide (CPG). The CPG is very similar to a business plan.

Our Mission Statement

To create positive change within our organization and communities by providing young people with an organization of shared values through personal and professional development, social and cultural diversity, networking, and community improvement.

Jaycee Creed

We believe...

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life.
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations.
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise.
That government should be of laws rather than of men.
That Earth's great treasure lies in human personality.
And that service to humanity is the best work of life!

- Written by C. William Brownfield, 1946.
